PaperArtsy Challenge: Foiling (again)

Still with the current theme on PaperArtsy of Foiling, I've made another Christmas card.

Using my other new JOFY stamp set JOFY68, and the background JOFY65 I made a card inspired by Jo herself in the release of her new Christmas stamp sets here.

I embossed the snowflakes background stamp from JOFY65, then coloured with Distress inks (Broken China and Iced Spruce).
I foiled the Snow from JoFY 68 with silver leaf.
Finally I used some silver thread and a Sizzix thinlit mini snowflake.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Foiling

The current challenge at PaperArtsy is Foiling.

So off I went to hunt down my foil and sticky embossing powder. It has been a loooong time since I did any of that! I didn't have any foil, but had some leaf (I hope it still counts!)

I was inspired by my new JOFY65 stamp set, and the card Jo made in the post when the stamps were announced.

So the stamp set is JOY65, and the words are by IndigoBlu.
I stamped the image, then used a Tsukineko Emboss Pen where I wanted the leaf, and used Ranger Sticky emboss powder over the emboss pen. Then I stuck the leaf onto the (still hot) embossing powder.
The rest of the image is coloured with Prismacolor Pencils, blended with Sansodor.
I touch of Red Stickles on the berries for a bit of extra bling, and finally I used Distress Pumice Stone to soften the edges and make it look "smokey".

PaperArtsy Challenge: Mint Sage Claret and Gold

I have entered the latest PaperArtsy challenge: Mint, Sage, Claret and Gold.
I was inspired by Alison Hall's post here, so much so I went out and bought a Gelli Plate to try her backgrounds.
It was great fun (i.e. messy), and I made four cards with the masterboard I created.

I used Fresco Acrylic paints in Claret, Sage and Old Gold. I stamped EEG15 with Honey Dew.
The main stamping is from ELB22, HP1110, Tim Holtz CMS253 and CMS106.
I then used gold embossing powder to frame the edges.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Dark to Light and Contrasts

The latest challenge at PaperArtsy is Dark to Light and Contrasts.
I am in a lot of pain at the moment, so not able to do much, but I really wanted to join in. So I decided to do a simple card, similar to the one I submitted for the Aqua challenge.
The background is painted with Fresco Acrylic Paint (Eggplant), and I used Lilac on a stamp from EEV02 for the scratchy squares background.
The stencils in the foreground are done in Snowflake and Lilac (just in the centre of the flowers), and I used 008 PA Stencil (JOFY) and 003 PA Stencil (Lin Brown)

PaperArtsy Challenge : Aqua

It's been a while since I last posted!
The current PaperArtsy challemge is Aqua.
My card is inspired by a card Jo Firth-Young made back in 2015 (I save all the posts with pictures I like as inspiration, then just scroll through when I am not sure what I feel like making).
The background is created using Fresco Acrylic Paints, the background stamp is from EEV02, the Stencil is 011 PA Stenceil (JOFY) and the words are from ELB22.

I have masked the first flower stamp to stamp the second one "behind" (well really over it), and used JOFY11 Stencil and Claire Lloyd 23 Stencil (with more Fresco Paint) in the background.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Pink and Orange

The new challenges for PaperArtsy have started. This challenge is Pink and Orange. Not two colours I would normally put together!
My inspiration came from Jo Firth Young on the release of her new stamps here.

For the background I used Fresco Paints (Vanilla and Tinned Peas) and the JOFY stencil 008
Then I stamped with JOFY25, 33, 37, 38 and ELB22
I then coloured them in with Fresco Paint (Very Berry, Sherbet, Rose, Butternut, Tango)

PaprtArtsy Challenge : Bleach (3)

Another Paprtartsy challenge card. This time I loved the piece by Kaz Hall here.
I used HP1009 for the flower, and EEG15 for the background stamps and the sentiment.
Like Kaz i used bleach to make the background a lighter colour, and to highlight the petals.
Very effective!
The paint splatters (and stanping) are all Fresco Paints, in Snowflake, China, Haystack, Professor Plum and Eggplant.

The background is Distress Ink Iced Spruce and Adirondak Cloudy Blue with a bit of Distress Broken China.
The fstars are stencilled with Fresco Snowflake to create the faux bleach and the sentiment is from HPXM09.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Bleach Techniques

Over at PaperArtsy the challenge is Bleach Techniques.

This post by Lesey Ebdon caught my eye, and I had a go at her Christmas Card.
The star is from JOFY03.
The background is Distress Tumbled Glass and Adirondak Rust, with the faux bleach being  Snowflake Fresco Paint through a stars stencil.
The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Colour Mixing (2)

After making my last card, inspired by Hazel Agnew, I decided to try again, trying to achieve a more watercolour look.
First thing I did was to use a page from a book in the background (with a whitewash over), like Hazel did, as this makes a big difference.

Still using just Pumpkin Soup and China Fresco Paints (with a bit of Snowflake and Satin Glaze), I tried again

Fun and interesting to experiment!

PaperArtsy Challenge : Colour Mixing

The challenge at PaperArtsy is Colour Mixing

I loved the post by Hazel Agnew, especially her second journal page, the landscape.
I made my card from her pictures, although I cannot replicate the beuatiful watercolour effect she achieved, I am still happy with my attempt
It was great fun using just 2 paint colours, and creating all the different colours from them

I used Fresco Paints in Pumpkin Soup and China, plus Satin Glaze to dilute
The stamps are JOFY14 and JOFY33

To define the hills and fields I used a distress marker and a wet paintbrush

PaperArtsy Challenge : White spaces again

Still inspired by Ellie Knol, I made another CAS card for the PaperArtsy challenge
This time I used Distress Stains (Faded Jeans, Broken China, Dusty Concord and Wild Honey) and an acrylic block
The stamps are HP1007 and ID04, stamped with archival ink coffee
The die is Sizzlets Dragonfly #3

PaperArtsy Challenge : White Space 2

Another card for the PaperArtsy challenge. I was inspired by Ellie Knol's lovely CAS cards
For the background I used Distress Inks (sprayed with water and picked up on an acrylic block) - Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters and Aged Mahogany
The stamps are HP1007 and ID04, but stamped with Archival ink - tree branch
The die is PaperArtsy "Branch" (by Lin Brown I think), although I cant find in on the PA website to add a link (sorry)

PaperArtsy Challenge : White Space

The latest challenge over at PaperArtsy is White Space

I went with a very simple design for my card
I used Distress Ink Twisted Citron through stencil 023 by Claire Lloyd
then stamped a lovely flower stamp I got from PaperArtsy as a gift with one of my orders, and finally the "with love" from JOFY 23
I painted the flowers with Fresco Paints Tango and Yellow Submarine

PaperArtsy Challenge : Resists II

I decided to make another card for the PaperArtsy challenge : resists
This card was inspired by Jo Firth-Young
I used Fresco paints for the background (Stone and Chalk)
Then I squished embossing ink through stencil 023 (Clare Lloyd)
and covered with embossing powder and heat set. These are the lozenges down the right side. This bit I am most dissatisfied with, as I don't think it goes very well with the rest of the card now the card is finished.
Anyway, I then covered the card with Tango, Smoked Paprika and Yellow Submarine Fresco paints
Next Stone through stencil 11 (JOFY)
I wiped back the paint from the embossed area and stamped with JOFY14 and JOFY33
I coloured the stamps with more Fresco paint : Granny Smith and Tinned Peas, London Bus, Tango and Yellow Submarine

Sundried
