On the last day, phew cutting it fine! This month's PaperArtsy challenge ends at 5pm today, so I have just made it.

Then Chalk and Ice Blue through the Lin Brown ELB001 Stencil.
Mocha Mousse, Irish Cream and Vintage Lace through Lin Brown ELB004 stencil
Finally Vintage lace through  a feather stencil

PaperArtsy Challenge : Gothic Card

Another PaperArtsy Challenge card for me : I was inspired by Liesbeth Fiddler's Gothic Card, but made mine into a Christmas card.

I followed her instructions, using Smoothy white stamping card, and painting it with Fresco Paints in Irish Cream, Nougat, Sky Blue and Pea Coat.
The front piece of card has more blue, and back piece more cream
I repeat stamped the buildings from Hot Pick 1110, and added Santa and his reindeer (a stamp I got as a freebie with an order - but I am not sure which company)
The background is stamped with a grunge snowflake  (Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous)

PaperArtsy Challenge : Botanical Tag

Over at PaperArtsy this week, I was inspired by Brenda Brown's Botanical Tag.
For once I made something other than a card!

I used tissue paper to cover the tags, then painted with watered down Limited Edition JOFY paints.
The flower is from JOFY collection 14.  I painted it with Fresco Paints, then covered it with metallic glaze, and finally covered the flower head with glossy accents (you probably can't see any of that in the picture!)
For the butterflies I painted card, then punched the butterflies. The big one is stamped with Ink & the Dog Mini 44 (script) and they are all edged with black pen and then covered with glossy accents.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Ellen Vargo (2)

Today I made up the other 2 cards from the background I made over the last few days. My writing is getting more confident...

Have a look at Ellen's wonderful creations here

PaperArtsy Challenge : Ellen Vargo

Ellen Vargo is back at PaperArtsy this week, which is very exciting. I love her unique style, and this 3 part project was loads of fun to create!

For once I have photos through out the project...

Part 1 was to create the background and you can see how Ellen did it (a great video and photos) here
I used the JOFY limited edition Fresco Paints, the background stamp is from Squiggly Ink Swirls & Curls 4 and the stencil (which is very faint) is from PaperArtsy Stencil 001 {ELB}
The ink I used to stamp with was Adirondack Stream and VersaColor Heliotrope and Violet

Part 2 was to add collage stamped images. At this point I cut my page into 4 to create cards rather than one journal page. One card piece is smaller than the others, that is because I cannot divide 21cm by 2 in my head...
See here for Ellen's tutorial
I decided to create my borders with sewing, so out came the sewing  machine and I continued to blunt my needle.

Finally, Part 3 finished off with handwritten lettering... uh NOT my forte... I have only done 2 cards so far (all my nerves can take today), and you can see that the second one is slightly better (slightly more confident) than the first, but no-where as amazing as Ellen's! Have a look here to see hers
Still, I loved the idea and plan on practicing until I can do it too, as it's a great way to write on art work.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Teresa Abajo

One of the guest designers over on PaperArtsy this week is Teresa Abajo (all the way from Australia!), and her card and ATC inspired me to make this card.

First I used grunge paste through the Mini Harlequin stencil, then I painted the background with Sky Fresco Paint.
I sprayed the background with Spiced Marmalade distress re-inker,  diluted with water, and added some Brass Treasure Gold to highlight some of the diamonds.
The stamps is from Ink and the Dog At Home plate 5

PaperArtsy Challenge : Ellen Vargo Abstract Cards

I'm loving the Abstract Art Ellen Vargo is doing over at PaperArtsy this week. This time she made a large abstract sheet, and then cut it into 4 cards. I have done similar.

It was great fun to make (rather messy, which is half the fun!)
The Fresco Paints was brayered onto the card (Snowflake, Limelight, Pumpkin Soup, Smoked Paprika, Inky Pool and London Bus)
I used the end of a glue stick dipped in Snowflake to make the circles. Smoke Paprika and Mini Harlequin stencil, the stamps are from Hot Pick 1006, Hot Pick 1008, Hot Pick 1009, Hot Pick 1208, JoFY Collection 14 and Lin Brown 01

PaperArtsy Challenge : Ellen Vargo Abstract Tag

It's been a while since I last posted any crafty stuff, I've not been crafting for a few weeks, but I'm back into it, and was inspired by Ellen Vargos' Abstract Tag over at PaperArtsy this week.

I loved using the brayer to apply the Fresco Paints (I used the same colours as Ellen). The stamps are Mini 44 and Mini 96, and the stencil is Mini Circle Grid, using Grunge Paste.
