PaperArtsy Challenge : Time (again)

I was inspired to make another Time card for the PaperArtsy Challenge.

The background is brayered using Fresco Paints (Lake Wanaka, Tinned Peas, Inky Pool and Chalk). I then went over it with a watery solution of snowflake.
Stamped EEV02 Ellen Vargo circles in Smokey Grey Versafine
I stencilled Tim Holtz Cargo stencil with Snowflake paint

I then highlighted/coloured the collage and words with Distress inks as watercolour : Shabby shutters, Peeled Paint and Peacock Feathers

PaperArtsy Challenge : Time

The background is made with Distress Inks : Old paper and Antique Linen
The main stamp is from  Stampers Anonymous and the quote is Tim Holtz
The background script is PaperArtsy Mini 44 and the Time stamps are from Clocks 5

PaperArtsy Challnege : Stencils (another one)

I decided to make another card for the PaperArtsy challenge of Stencils.

This time I was inspired by Lin Brown, the queen of background stencilling.
Like Lin, I brayered the background with Fresco Paints in Honeydew, Haystack and Lilac. Then I stencilled with Chalk and Nougat paints, using sequin waste, ELB001 and  Mini Vine.
The stamps are all from JOFY 32, stamped, cut out and coloured with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Sansodor and paper stumps.

PaperArtsy challenge : Stencils

Over at PaperArtsy, the challenge is Stencils, and I have plenty of those :)
My card is inspired by Anna-Karin Evaldsson in the June 2015 Craft Stamper Magazine.
I started with Smoothy (heavy weight) stamping card, and covered it in
Irish Cream Fresco Paint.
The stencilling was done with Tim Holtz Cargo stencil, and the "bump" Fresco Paint colours are Chocolate pudding underneath, and Nougat on top. I used watered down Beach Hut to flick splotches on the card, and colour the stamped images
I used Distress Ink Gathered Twigs to smoosh around the edges, and stencil the circles (using sequin waste as the stencil).
The stamps are from HP 1110
Finally I added some hardware, in the form of the Tim Holtz clock (with hands) and the screw that was just in my "metal bits" box.

PaperArtsy Challenge : Words

The latest challenge at PaperArtsy is "Words"

I decided to use a lovely "Imagine" stamp (I do not know who it is made by) as my main focus. The card behind the stamp is Fresco Paint Moonlight.

For the main background I painted with Eggplant, then used a daisy stencil with Lilac. I washed it over with watered down Snowflake, and then stamped Snowflake and Ink&the Dog Mini 22

PaperArtsy Challenge : Sprays

For the last 2 weeks the challenge over at PaperArtsy has been Sprays.
I don't have many sprays, as they have never really featured in my cards, but I do have some Tattered Angel sprays in the back of the cupboard...
These are not as vibrant as some of the ones used today, so I decided to use them over the paint background as more of a shimmer.

Following  Sara Naumann's recent post I used Fresco paints (Pumpkin Soup, Paprika and London Bus) and brayered them onto the card. I then sprayed a lot of Tattered Angels Gold, copper and autumn leaves and dried it off. It really changed the feel of the card, making it feel almost tacky.
I stamped using Snowflake and Mini 44, Mini 22 and with grey ink Mini 72
The main stamps are JOFY 23 and JOFY 24 and JOFY mini 33
The sentiment is ELB03
The flowers are painted with Fresco paints in London Bus, Claret, Tango, Yellow Submarine and Hey Pesto

PaperArtsy Challenge : Grunge Paste 2

I so enjoyed making the last card, I thought I'd try again with a few changes.
This is for the PaperArtsy challenge : Grunge paste
This time I tinted the grunge paste with Fresco Paint Chocolate Pudding, so that the brown showed through when I sanded back the paint layers. The paint was added with cut 'n dry foam instead of a paintbrush, giving a softer texture. (I used Pumpkin Soup, Haystack,Yellow Submarine)
The stamps are all from JOFY Collection 30

PaperArtsy challenge : Grunge Paste

The current challenge over at PaperArtsy is Grunge Paste. Messy and fun!
I have created a card that has drawn from many places : Jo Firth-Young, Wanda Hentges and Lou Collins.
I started with smoothy white stamping card, and put grunge paste through a honeycomb style stencil. I then painted with Fresco paints (pumpkin soup, haystack, yellow submarine and tango)
I sanded back the paint over the grunge paste and highlighted with treasure gold (an idea from Leandra in her GP intro)
The stamps are JOFY mini 44 and JOFY collection 30.

PaperArtsy challenge : paint (again)

Well, my new JOFY30 stamps arrived, and I just had to make a card!
(sorry I cant link to them as they are not on the PA website yet), but have a look at Jo Firth-Young's blog to see the stamps, and my inspiration for this card. Thank you Jo!

I used smoothy card, and covered it with Fresco Acrylic Paint : Vanilla and Haystack
I also used a honeycomb style stencil with Pumpkin soup to create the background
I stamped in Sepia with the honeycomb from JOFY30.
On separate smoothy card (covered in Vanilla), I stamped the beehive, bee and sentiment. I coloured them with pencils.

PaperArtsy challenge : Shiny stuff

So the new challenge at PaperArtsy is "shiny stuff".
I decided to combine some products I haven't used for a while (embossing and metal), and made a valentines card.
The background stamp is from HP1006, and has been embossed with gold. The LOVE stamp is from JOFY25.
The hearts are Tim Holtz Alterations movers & shapers dies, using red metal (mounted on black card to make it stable, as taught by Lin and Leandra)
It is hard to see in the photo, but the red card used to mat the main card and the Love stamp is shiny too.
Bling on Valentines day... (sorry)

PaperArtsy Challenge - Fragile Papers

There is a new format for the challenges on the PaperArtsy Blog. Over this 2 week period the theme is Fragile Papers.
I watched Leandra's videos (see here video1, video2, video3)
I decided to try the brayer method she showed on Tim Holtz tissue paper

I used Fresco Paints (Beach Hut, South Pacific, Zesty Zing, Yellow Submarine, Claret, Snowflake)
The numbers stamp is Mini 22, and the script stamp I am no sure where it is from.
I used a piece of the creation to make a card. I put the tissue paper over black card (making the background look darker), and add the Lin Brown stamps ELB01 and ELB02.
